French Classes

 

Instructor: Mr. Vincent Houben

 

For Ages 7 & up

Vincent is a native French speaker with rich teaching experience. He served as youth pastor in the inner-city of Atlanta and served as a missionary in Paris, France for four years. He has been teaching French mostly to homeschoolers for the past four years.

 

His approach is unique and effective. It combines a mixture of proven curricula:

• The Learnables- listening & understanding
• Early French Readers- reading & writing
• Discovering French- in-depth grammar & ex.

This method enables students to be immersed daily in the language, to learn to read and write as well as to get a solid understanding of grammar.

 

Times & Cost for Fall quarter:

1 time per week $180 (11 hours) 2 times per week $350 (22 hours)

French I (7-11) – TBA (please contact me to find the best time)

French III (7-11) –  Thursdays 1:00 - 2:00 PM

French 101 (12-18) – TBA (please contact me to find the best time)

French 202 (12-18) – Thursdays 12:00 - 1:00 PM and Mondays 2:00 - 3:00 PM

French Honor (15-18) –  Mondays 1:00 - 2:00 PM

French Tutoring (any age) - Wednesdays 3:00 - 5:00 PM

All students will have a chance to participate in

“Le Grand Concours 2009” an annual competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French.
